Today we proceed to Thimphu – the capital city of Bhutan. Enroute, we visit Kharbandi Gompa – built by the Royal Grandmother as her winter residence. Upon arrival we visit BBS Clock Tower and Tashichho Dzong. In the evening, we have free time at the local market.
Today we explore Thimphu city, we visit Royal Takin Preserve – a wildlife reserve area for ‘Takin’ the national animal of Bhutan, Buddha Dordenma Statue, and the Standing Buddha Park. Further we visit National Library and Handicraft Center. Later we visit Simply Bhutan – an interactive 'living' museum that gives a quick introduction to various aspects of traditional life in Bhutan.
Today we proceed to the enchanting Phobjika Valley – known for its natural beauty and as the winter home of the rare, Black-Necked Cranes. En route we visit Dochula Pass and admire the panoramic Himalayan views and 108 memorial chortens, followed by a visit to Lamperi Botanical Garden. Upon arrival, we visit Gangtey Monastery – one of the oldest and most beautiful Nyingma monasteries in Bhutan. Later, we enjoy a scenic nature walk in the valley and visit the Black-Necked Crane Information Center.
Today we travel to Bumthang – often referred to as the ‘Switzerland of Bhutan’. The valley is adorned with rolling hills, serene forests, and a peaceful charm. En route we stop at Yotong La and Kiki La passes to soak in the alpine views. Upon arrival, we check-in and relax amidst the breathtaking nature of Bumthang.
Today we explore the city of Bumthang, we visit Kurjey Lhakhang monastery – the final resting place of the first three Kings of Bhutan, Jambay Lhakhang – one of the 108 temples built in one day by the renowned Tibetan King Songsten Gampo in 659 CE, Jakar Dzong – the largest Dzong in Bhutan, Tamshing Lhakhang – a temple containing a large number of ancient paintings of Buddha and Lhodrak Kharchhu Monastery – a Buddhist Nyingmapa Monastery of Jangter Tradition.
Today we proceed to Punakha – Bhutan’s ancient capital. Upon arrival, we cross a picturesque suspension bridge to visit the majestic Punakha Dzong – an architectural masterpiece nestled between two rivers.
Today we experience the thrill of white water rafting in the Punakha River – an unforgettable adventure! Later, we proceed to Paro. En route, we take a photo stop at the scenic Tamcho Iron Bridge. Upon arrival at Paro, we visit a local and traditional Bhutanese Beer brewery. The entire process of brewing will be shown and explained as we take a tour around the brewery. This will be followed by tasting of all the beers that are brewed in the Brewery.
Today we visit the iconic Taktshang Monastery – famously known as Tiger’s Nest Monastery. Nestled on a cliff at 3,120 meters above sea level, it’s one of Bhutan’s most revered landmarks. A 12 km round trek through pine forests and rugged paths leads us to this spiritual site. After descending, we visit the viewpoint of Drukgyel Dzong – the Victory Fortress.
Today we visit Chele-la-Pass – the highest motorable pass in the western regions of Bhutan located between picturesque Haa Valley and Paro Valley. Further we visit Ta-Dzong also known as the National Museum and Paro Dzong – a large dzong, Buddhist monastery and fortress. In the evening, we enjoy the traditional Bhutanese cultural program.
Today we proceed to Siliguri via Phuentsholing. In the evening, we arrive at Siliguri and relax after the journey.
